OUR MISSION
Women in Art is a not-for-profit community whose aim is to support mentor and promote women artists
Our mission is that WIA will become a valuable resource for all women artists and a step towards a more diverse and inclusive art world.

The aim of the WIA is to support, mentor and promote women artists.
We will be featuring information and resources, interviews with female artists, articles on the history of women in art, and showcasing the work of up-and-coming talent.

We believe representation is vital in breaking down barriers and creating a more equal playing field for all artists.
We hope to inspire and empower not just our generation of artists but the next generation of female artists.
We also recognize that the lack of representation extends beyond gender, and we will strive to feature artists from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds as well.

Our goal as a community is that WIA can contribute to a more inclusive and equitable art world. We invite you to join us on this journey and celebrate women's incredible talent and creativity in art.

Our Policy
WE ARE NOT FOR PROFIT

We want to create a diverse and inclusive community for all women artists.

We are committed to allyship and will continue championing a plurality of voices.

But, we acknowledge that there is still much work to be done. We understand that our work to correct the gender imbalances of the art world must be intersectional and recognise the systemic barriers that may be layered onto gendered experience.

We encourage artists from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds to enter the Women In Art Award

Women in art have long been overlooked and under-appreciated, making it all the more important to recognize and celebrate their unique contributions to the world of art. From established female artists who have shaped the landscape of art history to emerging women artists with innovative ideas and perspectives, the importance of celebrating and preserving their work cannot be overstated. Not only does it benefit the artists themselves, but it also allows museums and curators to stay relevant and up-to-date in an ever-evolving art world.
